Palace on Marcos' call to support 11 Alyansa bets: Let's wait for next rallies
Malacañang on Monday said the public should wait for the next rallies to know the meaning of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr's remarks last Laguna rally as he asked support for the 11 senatorial candidates of Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas instead of 12, omitting Senator Imee Marcos.
''Ang pagkakasabi lang po sa atin ay maliwanag po ang kaniyang sinabi at hintayin na lamang po ang susunod na mga rally para malaman po natin kung ano po ba iyong ibig niya talagang sabihin dito,'' Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said in a briefing.
Marcos again left out his sister as he called for the public to support the administration's senatorial candidates during a campaign rally in Laguna on Saturday.
Originally, the administration’s Senate slate included Imee Marcos, Benhur Abalos, Abby Binay, Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla, Tito Sotto, Francis Tolentino, Ping Lacson, Manny Pacquiao, Erwin Tulfo, and Camille Villar.
Imee was also not present during the campaign rally in Cavite. To recall, she skipped as well the administration’s Tacloban rally as she expressed disapproval of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest and detention in the Netherlands.
During the Laguna rally, Marcos emphasized that Alyansa’s goal is peace, not division or oppression. —RF, GMA Integrated News
