Erwin Tulfo bats OFW pension system; Camille Villar pushes job creation
ACT CIS party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo said he would file a measure to institutionalize a pension system for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
In a statement on Sunday, Tulfo said the pension system will allow OFWs to “enjoy benefits upon their retirement from working abroad.”
According to Tulfo, under the measure, the OFW and the government will both contribute to the pension fund.
“The government may contribute double or triple the amount of the OFW’s contribution to the pension fund,” the candidate said.
Tulfo is pushing for a new pension system that he says should be specific to OFWs' experiences where the benefits will be separate from the Social Security System (SSS).
Meanwhile, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar on Saturday campaigned in Muntinlupa City where she was endorsed by Mayor Ruffy Biazon.
Villar vowed to push for projects and legislation on job creation, financial literacy, maternal and reproductive health, housing and education.
Tulfo and Villar are senatorial candidates under the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas endorsed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
However, Villar and the President’s sister, Senator Imee Marcos, were absent from Alyansa’s 10th campaign sortie in Cavite on Friday.
