Comelec urges businesses to encourage employees to vote

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) called on the business community Wednesday to take part in its voters’ education campaign as it began the nationwide distribution of voter's information sheets (VIS) for Eleksyon 2025.

“‘Yung mga empleyado natin, iengganyo natin silang bumoto at makapamili po nang tama, nang hindi natin dinidiktahan kung sino ang kanilang iboboto at sana makatulong din po sa ating voters’ education program,” Comelec chairperson George Erwin Garcia told reporters at the sidelines of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) General Membership Meeting in Taguig City.

On Wednesday morning, the poll body launched the nationwide distribution of VIS for the upcoming mid-term elections in May.

A VIS contains the voter’s name and address, as well as instructions and reminders on how to cast ballots.

It likewise includes the list of national and local candidates and 155 party-lists for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).

Garcia also stressed the importance of the business community’s trust in the electoral process and its implications on the economy.
