Envoy says US offering PH training helicopters
The United States is offering the Philippines training helicopters with an estimated cost of $120 million, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez said Wednesday.
Romualdez confirmed this to GMA News Online when asked about the ''potential sale'' of training helicopters to the Philippines.
Reuters reported that according to Pentagon, the US State Department approved potential sale of training helicopters to the Philippines for $120 million.
''These are all offers being made to us. Ultimately, it's our decision and if we can afford it,'' Romualdez said.
Asked how the assets will help the Philippine military and if Manila could afford them, Romualdez said that is for Defense chief Gilberto Teodoro to decide.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
