Palace terminates 2 DOH execs

Malacañang on Wednesday disclosed that two officials of the Department of Health have been terminated from the agency.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro shared to reporters the letters addressed to Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, for the expiration of tenure of Ariel Valencia as Assistant Secretary and termination of the extension of service of Jaime Bernadas as Director IV.

Dated April 15, 2025, the letters were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

No information was provided yet as to the reasons they were terminated from the agency.

However, Castro said, ''When you serve at the pleasure, your tenure may expire at any time.''

For its part, DOH spokesman Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo said the agency continues to coordinate with the Office of the President on the details of personnel movements as directed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. through the Executive Secretary.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
