10,000 NCR cops deployed for Holy Week to remain for summer season
The National Capital Regional Police Office said on Monday that the more than 10,000 cops it deployed for the Holy Week will remain on alert for the rest of the summer season.
“Actually yung atin pong deployment na nasa 10,202 is para sa buong summer vacation po ‘yan…Sakop na rin po niyan ang mga magaganap na activities gaya po ng Labor Day at fiestas natin, kasama po ‘yan sa ise-secure natin buong summer vacation,” said NCRPO spokesperson Police Major Hazel Asilo in Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.
(Actually, the 10,202 cops will remain deployed for the rest of the summer vacation…So they will be on standby on Labor Day and on the upcoming fiestas.)
The NCRPO said that Metro Manila cops are also in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection to provide security during fire responses.
(We have coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection because we are the ones helping victims secure their valuables that are prone to looting.)
On the other hand, the NCRPO said there were no major incidents recorded during the Holy Week from April 13 to 20.
(So far, we are proud to say that Holy Week in the National Capital Region was generally peaceful. We did not record major incidents and the implementation of security in NCR went smoothly.)
The more than 10,000 NCRPO cops were deployed to churches, transportation hubs, major thoroughfares, and other crowded areas.
