Marcos wants more protection for commuters from abusive drivers
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. wants more protection for commuters from abusive drivers, Malacañang said on Thursday.
''There is this directive coming from the President that there should be more protection to the commuters, to everyone from abusive drivers. Claire Castro said in a briefing.
Recently, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended 671 drivers' licenses for getting involved in road crashes and testing positive for illegal drugs.
Of the total number, the LTO said 547 of the suspended driver’s licenses were due to road crashes that resulted in slight physical injuries to deaths.
On the other hand, 97 were suspended due to positive drug test results.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said the 90-day suspension of driver’s licenses could lead to revocation after the investigation. —RF, GMA Integrated News
