PNP: Reward for Anson Que slay alleged ‘co-mastermind’ now P10M

The reward for information that can lead to the arrest of one of the suspects in the killing of Chinese businessman Anson Que and his driver has been increased to P10 million, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday.

PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said the bounty is set for alleged co-mastermind, Chinese national Wenli Gong, also known as Kelly Tan Lim, Bao Wenli, Axin, and Huang Yanling.

“Itinaas na po sa P10 million ang reward kung sino man po ang ang makakapagbigay ng information sa mabilis po na ikakadakip o ikakaaresto ni alias Kelly,” Fajardo said in a press briefing.

(The reward has been increased to P10 million for anyone who can provide information leading to the swift capture or arrest of alias Kelly.)

The initial reward for Kelly's capture was P5 million.

Police have named a total of five suspects in the killing of Que and his driver so far, including those already in custody, David Tan Liao, Richardo Austria, and Reymart Catequista, and those still at large, Jonin Lin and Kelly.

Liao and Kelly were the alleged masterminds while Austria, Catequista, and Lin were accomplices, according to Fajardo.

Kelly was the one who lured Que to go to the house in Bulacan where he was held captive with his driver, according to Fajardo.

She was also the one who orchestrated the transfer of the ransom money from one e-wallet to another before the money was converted into cryptocurrency, the PNP official added.

Fajardo said Kelly had been charged for kidnapping for ransom in connection with the kidnapping of Chinese national Xiao Ying Qu in Balibago, Angeles in September 2022.

She was arrested in 2024 but later released pursuant to a court order after posting P300.000.00 cash bond for her provisional liberty, according to Fajardo.

On April 10, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) confirmed that the bodies of Que and his driver were found stuffed inside nylon bags on a grassy portion of a road in Rodriguez, Rizal.

Aside from the five suspects, the PNP earlier said two more Chinese in Boracay were also being questioned for their possible connection with Kelly.

Fajardo earlier said a P200-million ransom in exchange for Que’s freedom was transferred in batches through casino junket operators.

More than five people, two of whom are already in custody, received the money before it was converted into cryptocurrency.

The PNP is also looking into holding the casino and junket operators accountable. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
