Leni on Facebook: Sonny Matula for senator

Former Vice President Leni Robredo backed the senatorial candidacy of labor leader Atty. Sonny Matula.

On Facebook over the weekend, Robredo said Matula was one of the senatorial candidates in her ticket when she ran for president in 2022.

“Senatorial candidate and labor leader, Sonny Matula, visited me at home. He was one of my senatorial candidates when I ran in the 2022 Presidential Elections. [Vote] #43 Sonny Matula for Senator,” Robredo said.

In response, Matula said Robredo’s support is almost as good as a victory.

“Maraming salamat, VP Leni. Lubos kong ikinagagalak na maisama sa iyong ‘honor roll’—parang panalo na rin,” Matula said.

(Thank you very much, VP Leni. I am very happy to be included in your honor roll. It’s as if I already won.)

Matula and Robredo were seen both sporting thumbs-up signs.

Matula makes the fifth Senate bet in the May 12 polls that Robredo officially endorsed so far after former Senators Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino, Manny Pacquiao, and former Secretary Benhur Abalos of the Department of Interior and Local Government. –NB, GMA Integrated News
