PHLPost launches postage stamps celebrating iconic PH festivals
In a vibrant tribute to the country’s rich cultural heritage, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has released a special collection of commemorative stamps and souvenir sheets featuring some of the Philippines’ most iconic and globally renowned festivals.
The festivals featured in the collection include:
- Kadayawan Festival in Davao City
- Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City
- Singkaban Festival in Bulacan
- Sinulog Festival in Cebu City
Each stamp, laid out by PHLPost’s in-house graphic artist Jose Antonio A. Jayme, captures the vibrancy and unique character of these festivals through vivid illustrations and traditional Filipino costumes.
PHLPost printed 10,000 copies of the stamps in blocks of four, with each stamp priced at P16. These are now available for purchase at the Manila Central Post Office Post Shop, located at Annex 1 Building, Manila Central Post Office compound, Liwasang Bonifacio.
The stamp series was unveiled during a launch event held on April 25, 2025 at Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo, Manila. It highlights the dynamic spirit, color, and cultural diversity of Filipino celebrations.
“It is a great honor to celebrate these festivals not only in parades and performances but also in our unique way, through commemorative stamps and philatelic frames that preserve these moments in time and share their stories across the country and around the world,” Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos said. —Sherylin Untalan/AOL, GMA Integrated News
