LTO to start issuing SCOs vs. overspeeding motovloggers
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is looking into the automatic suspension and issuance of show cause orders (SCO) against vloggers who are posting content of themselves overspeeding on the road.
In an interview on Wednesday, Senator JV Ejercito said he had been forwarding content of vloggers who have displayed reckless driving and overspeeding on their motorcycles to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon.
“I think LTO already came up with a memo na yung mga vloggers, pag na-forward yung mga videos nila with these contents, will automatically be suspended and will be issued show cause order. Kasi noon pa yan,” he said.
(I think LTO already came up with a memo that vloggers, once their videos with these contents, will automatically be suspended and will be issued show cause order… because that had been an issue since before.)
As a motorcycle rider himself, Ejercito said he had been advocating motoring safety, and had said that videos of unsafe riding online should not be shared as these might be copied by their followers.
“Sinisita ko yung mga yan noon pa. Sabi ko, this video should not be posted kasi ginagaya yan. So, I'd like to thank Secretary Vince Dizon and LTO Director Vigor Mendoza for the swift action this time,” he shared.

“So, at least this is a very good action on LTO and DOTR, that yung mga vloggers that are posting reckless videos that break the law should now be suspended or even have their license revoked,” he added.

The discussion followed after the past few weeks saw several deadly road incidents that could have been the result of unsafe or reckless driving. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
