LTFRB issues more than 800 special bus permits for Eleksyon 2025

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued special permits to more than 800 bus units for Eleksyon 2025, Super Radyo dzBB reported Friday.

In an interview with dzBB's Isa Avendaño-Umali, LTFRB spokesperson Ariel Inton confirmed that a total of 829 bus units received special permits valid from May 9 to 18, 2025.

He added that several applications were denied due to strict inspection of units, random drug testing for drivers, and issuance of show-cause orders for some bus terminals.

Inton also clarified that there were no permits issued exclusively for use of candidates or to transport voters to polling places as the permits were provided for travel of the general public.

“Wala pong inissue ang LTFRB na para gamitin exclusively sa politiko, for instance 'yung magpe-ferry ng botante... Wala tayong inisyung ganyan,” he said.
