Sara Duterte arrives at DOJ to attend probe on kill remark

Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday personally attended the preliminary probe at the Department of Justice (DOJ) over her supposed kill remark against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and others

Duterte arrived at the Justice Department at around 2 p.m.

She was accompanied by her lawyer Michael Poa, her former spokesperson.

“Consistent naman po ang ating Vice President. Palagi naman po niya sinasabi noon na haharapin naman talaga niya sa mga tamang venue ‘yung mga binabatong accusations laban sa kanya, which ginawa niya today,” Poa said in an ambush interview.

(Our Vice President has been consistent. She has always said that she will face the accusations against her in the proper venues, which she did today.)

The DOJ is looking into the inciting to sedition and grave threats complaint filed against Duterte by the National Bureau of Investigation.

In an online press briefing in 2024, Duterte said that she ordered someone to kill Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta, and Speaker Martin Romualdez if an alleged plot against her succeeds.

Duterte later on clarified that her “assassination” statement was not a threat, saying she only highlighted the alleged threat to her security.

She also said her remarks were “maliciously taken out of logical context.”

The next preliminary probe will be held on May 16.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
