Palace hit back at Sara: You're describing yourself, Dutertes

Malacañang on Friday hit back at Vice President Sara Duterte for criticizing anew the Marcos administration and for saying that she and her family are not the country's problem.

In her speech during the miting de avance of PDP Laban’s senatorial candidates Thursday, Duterte said that the country is witnessing a “systematic demolition job” against its political opponents.

In response, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said it seemed that Duterte was describing herself and the Duterte family.

''Opo, tayo po ay nakapanood ng kaniyang mga tinuran. At ang mga negatibo niya pong nabanggit doon...  sa ating pagsusuri ay mukhang ang dini-describe niya po ay ang kaniyang sarili at ang pamilya Duterte,'' Castro said.

(Yes, we're able to watch her statements and her negative remarks. For us, it seems she's describing herself and the Duterte family.)

Without dropping names, Duterte lamented that the nation had elected a leader who has no ability to understand the plight of the people and is unable to make decisions for the welfare of the people.

She also pointed out that the country is currently led by someone who refuses to undergo a public hair follicle drug test and who “lied” about making the P20 per kilo of rice possible.

The Vice President has been criticizing the government for allowing the arrest of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, and his eventual transfer to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Meanwhile, in the same press briefing, Castro was asked if cases would be filed against the Vice President for allegedly spreading fake news against First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos.

Castro said there is no plan yet.

''Sa ngayon po, wala pa po. Wala po," she said —AOL, GMA Integrated News
