PPCRV: Using phone as 'kodigo' is prohibited when voting
Using a mobile phone as a "kodigo" or guide when voting is prohibited since it may be used to take a photo or video, the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said Monday.
“Ang dami nagsasabi na dala nila ang kanilang phones at pwede nila ilabas at tingnan bilang kodigo habang sila ay bumoboto. Hindi dapat ginagawa ito kasi your phone can used as a camera at hiding hindi allowed ang camera habang bumoboto,” PPCRV spokesperson Ana Singson said in a press briefing
(Many are saying that they brought their phones and they were allowed to use it as a guide when voting. This is prohibited because your phone can be used as a camera, and cameras are not allowed while voting.)
“Once one person brings a phone, everybody else will do that at mahihirapan na ang mga EBs at volunteers na bantayan para hindi kunan ang mga balota,” she added.
(Once one person brings a phone, everybody else will do that, and the electoral boards and volunteers will find it difficult to monitor those who will attempt to capture the ballots.)
PPCRV earlier urged voters to write down the candidates they would vote for convenience.
"Mabilis tayong makakaboto kasi hindi na roon sa araw na iyon na mag-iisip pa tayo ng atin pong mga ibuboto, mapa-nasyonal man po iyan o mapa-lokal," PPCRV national coordinator Arwin Serrano said.
(You can write more efficiently because you would not have to decide on the spot whether it's on the national or local positions.) —RF, GMA Integrated News
