DepEd logs 160 election-related concerns
The Department of Education (DepEd) said Monday it has so far received 160 reports from its field offices regarding concerns about the ongoing 2025 national and local elections.
As of 1:30 p.m., the DepEd Election Command Center noted that most of the reports had to do with issues on automated counting machines (ACMs), missing names on the voter’s list, and health-related concerns from its teachers and personnel.
“Ang mga ulat ay kaagad na tinutugunan sa koordinasyon ng Comelec, PNP, at iba pang mga katuwang na ahensya upang masiguro ang maayos, ligtas, at tapat na halalan,” the agency said.
(The reports were immediately addressed in coordination with the Comelec, PNP, and other partner agencies to ensure orderly, safe, and honest elections.)
The election task force led by DepEd Undersecretary for Operations Malcolm Garma is also continuously coordinating with regional and division teams to ensure swift response to every incident involving the welfare and safety of DepEd teachers and personnel who are currently performing their election duty.
Earlier in the day, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it replaced at least 200 ACMs due to malfunction.
The poll body estimated the total number of poll workers for the 2025 Philippine elections at 758,549. Of them, 281,587 are DepEd personnel. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
