PCO chief urges public to report election-related fake news
The Presidential Communications Office on Monday called on the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any form of election-related fake news, misinformation, and disinformation through dedicated hotlines, email, and social media channels.
In a press release, PCO Secretary Jaybee ''Jay'' Ruiz said authorities have acted swiftly against early attempts to spread fake news amid the midterm elections.
(It's only a few but we immediately acted on this, take down those who spread fake news. Fake news shouldn't be spread since our votes are critical.)
(The election is very critical. That's the foundation of the democracy that we have in the Philippines.)
Ruiz encouraged citizens to report misleading or false content that could undermine the integrity of the 2025 midterm elections.
