Some senatorial candidates concede

Some senatorial candidates who are trailing in the partial and unofficial count in Eleksyon 2025 have conceded and thanked their supporters.

“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta at nagkampanya: mula sa Team Luke, volunteers, PLM (Partido Lakas ng Masa) at kaanib na organisasyon, kabataan hanggang sa pamilya,” labor leader Luke Espiritu, who ranked 29th with 6.4 million votes, said.

(Thank you to all those who supported and campaigned for me, including those allied organizations of youth and my family.)

“From three million in 2022, we got six million in 2025. It almost doubled 2022 figures. Di matatawaran ang pwersang ito kontra dinastiya. Dapat manginig na sila. Tuloy ang laban!,” Espiritu added.

(You cannot underestimate the forces against political dynasties. These dynasties must have been shaken. The fight goes on.)

Former Commission on Audit commissioner Heidi Mendoza, who is ranked 21st with 8.64 million votes, said her Senate race defeat is a journey that she will always remember with joy rather than sadness.

(Thank you to my beloved Filipinos. Kindly keep the tarpaulins you printed to help me out in my campaign. Those are precious to me, and a reminder that there was a tiny window for us to change our political system.)

Mendoza said she would visit all those who went out of their way to campaign for her, and that she would always advocate for anti-corruption measures.

Let’s cheer up,” Mendoza added.

(I will still watch out for public funds. All glory to God.)

Former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, for his part, wished all the probable winners well, regardless of political affiliation.

(My family and I are very thankful for the support and those who trusted me to make a difference. The election is over and we should unite to help our country prosper.)

Nawa'y pagsilbihan ninyo ang ating bansa ng tapat at buong puso,” Abalos, who ranks 16th with 11.3 million votes, added.

(I warmly greet the winners, and I hope that you will serve our country with honesty and compassion.)

Farmer Danilo Ramos, on the other hand, said that the loss is just temporary.

“Thank you very much for your support. Let us not lose heart, and we will continue the fight for the benefit of our farmers and land reform,” Ramos, who ranks 35th with four million votes, said. –NB, GMA Integrated News
