EU high representative Kallas to visit Philippines
European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will visit the Philippines from June 1 to 2, the EU Delegation in the Philippines said Thursday.
In a statement, the EU Delegation said Kallas will be meeting with Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Ronnie Gil Gavan and National Security Adviser Eduardo Año.
Likewise, she will also visit the De La Salle University for a town hall meeting with students and meet civil society representatives.
Kallas, who is also the Vice-President of the European Commission will conclude her visit with a meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on June 2.
Based on her profile available on the EU website, Kallas' task is "to lead a more strategic and assertive foreign and security policy that better enables the EU to pursue its strategic interests and shape the global system as well as strengthen Europe’s capacity to act, deepen its mutually beneficial partnerships and promote its values and interests around the world." –NB, GMA Integrated News
