Inmate escapes from escorts at Manila City Hall

MANILA, Philippines - Security was tightened at the Manila City Hall Tuesday afternoon after an inmate managed to escape from assigned jail escorts. Radio dzBB's Teresa Tavares reported that the inmate, who was not immediately identified, was being brought to a trial court at City Hall for a hearing. The escape prompted police and security personnel at City Hall to tighten security at the compound while they searched for the escaped inmate. The escape occurred four months after assassins shot dead former Misamis Occidental mayor Reynaldo Yap while he was attending a court hearing at City Hall. - GMANews.TV
