Marcos inspects learning spaces, donates Starlink units in Marawi

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday inspected the Temporary Learning Spaces in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

Marcos’ visit to Barangay Sagonsongan was part of his administration’s commitment in making education more accessible to the youth.

The President went to the TLS area where classes are in progress across five schools, serving around 720 students.

He also witnessed the installation of a Starlink internet unit which he donated to provide reliable internet connectivity for students and teachers in the area.

He donated Starlink units to schools in remote parts of Marawi City, including Bangon Elementary School, Bacarat National High School, Angoyao National High School, and Cabasaran Primary School.

The Office of the President also distributed school bags with supplies to all the TLS enrollees.

The TLS is an emergency education initiative, which was launched in the aftermath of the  Marawi siege.

It provides makeshift classrooms in areas where school buildings were destroyed or remain inaccessible due to conflict.

Meanwhile, Marcos also inspected the Port of Marawi as part of his site visits to the completed recovery and reconstruction projects in the province.

The Port of Marawi, with a total cost of P261.5 million, features an 8,000-square-meter backup area, a single-storey passenger terminal building with a seating capacity of 132, a one-storey fish port, berthing facilities for fast craft, and a Roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ramp.

This project was part of the Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Peacebuilding Program (MRRP) led by the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Marawi Rehabilitation and Development (OPAMRD), formerly known as Task Force Bangon Marawi. — AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
