PNP kicks off ‘Pulisteniks’ fitness program

PNP kicks off ‘Pulisteniks’ fitness program

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday morning launched "Pulisteniks," its physical conditioning program for police personnel.

In a keynote speech, PNP chief Police General Nicolas D. Torre III highlighted the importance of physical fitness for PNP officers to perform their duties effectively.

“Today, we gather not for a traditional police event—but for something just as essential: The kick-off of our regular physical conditioning program—Pulisteniks. This initiative is not just about stretching or running laps. It is about recognizing a simple truth that too often gets overlooked: A healthy body is a healthy mind,” said Torre.

“Let us not treat this as an obligation. Gawin po nating bahagi ng ating lifestyle bilang pulis ang pagiging malusog. Kasi kapag malusog ang katawan, malinaw ang isipan, matatag ang loob, at mabilis ang kilos,” he added.

(Let us make being healthy a part of our lifestyle as police officers. When the body is healthy, the mind is clear, the will is strong, and our actions are swift.)

Police officers will be performing their physical conditioning activities every Tuesday and Thursday.

The “Pulisteniks” program will enforce the value of physical readiness in operational excellence and responsive policing.

“A strong and healthy PNP is a dependable PNP. And a dependable PNP is what our country needs,” Torre said. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
