Medicine price watch now available through eGovPH app

You may now check the prices of medicines through the eGovPH app, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

In a statement on Wednesday, the agency said that the prices of medicines and their generic versions have been made available in the app in accordance with the Universal Health Care Law mandate to provide more access to affordable and quality medicine.

DOH reminded the public to strictly follow their doctor’s prescription and ensure the regular intake of maintenance medicine to mitigate any conditions.

The EGov Super App was released in 2023 with the goal of integrating all government services in one online platform. At the launch in Malacañang, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. said the app also aims to decrease corruption in government transactions.

"You do not have to talk to a person at all, for the entire process, wala kang kausap na tao [you don't talk to anyone]. There's no discretion that's being exercised at any point. It's either yes, no, yes, no... it's binary,” he said.

The app is meant to help Filipinos secure online permits, register their sim cards, and report online shopping scams through the platform, among other services. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
