NDRRMC: Crising, Habagat leave 3 reported dead, 3 hurt


Flood in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental - effect of Habagat enhanced by Crising

Three people were reported dead while another three were injured due to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Crising (international name: Wipha) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

In its situational report on Sunday morning, the NDRRMC said two of the fatalities were from Northern Mindanao, while the other was from the Davao Region.

All of the injured persons were from SOCCSKSARGEN.

NDRRMC also reported three missing individuals, all from Western Visayas.

The reported casualties are for validation, NDRRMC stated.

A total of 370,289 individuals, or 120,008 families, were affected by Crising.

The NDRRMC said 6,720 families or 22,623 individuals were staying in evacuation centers, while 5,287 families or 20,759 individuals stayed outside evacuation centers.

Cruising exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast on Sunday, PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring rains over several areas in the country. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/KG, GMA Integrated News
