Makati officials allay fears caused by old building's collapse

MANILA, Philippines - Makati City officials on Thursday sought to allay fears following the collapse of a five-storey building Parkview building along Gamboa Street corner Rada Street in Legaspi Village. Initial radio reports quoted Joey Salgado, chief of Makati City's Public Affairs Office, as saying that demolition operations on the old building has been going on since last month. Salgado also assured that city engineers have already secured the area and are conducting an investigation on site.
