Solon to colleague watching cockfight: Come out, apologize

Manila Representative Rolando Valeriano on Wednesday called on his colleague caught watching a cockfight during session to step into the light and apologize. 

Valeriano was referring to the member of the House who was photographed and caught on video watching a cockfight on his mobile phone Monday while the voting on the motion to elect Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez as Speaker was ongoing.

The video and the image were taken from the back of the House member and did not reveal his face. 

“He should come out and apologize. Malamang, pinagsisihan na niya (He's likely remorseful),” said Valeriano, chairman of the House committee on public order and safety.

Asked for his message to his colleague, Valeriano said, “Sana hindi nangyari ‘yun at sana hindi na maulit.”

(That incident should not have happened and should not happen again.)

Valeriano, however, said he does not have an idea about the identity of the lawmaker. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
