US Embassy cancels afternoon appointments due to heavy rains
The US Embassy in the Philippines announced on Friday afternoon that all the appointments for the rest of the day are cancelled due to the heavy rainfall.
“Due to the impact of heavy rainfall on Embassy facilities and the surrounding areas, all U.S. citizen appointments at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines are canceled for the remainder of today, August 22, and will need to be rescheduled,” the advisory read.
“Please wait for additional details or contact us through ACSInfoManila@state.gov,” it added.
Heavy rains are being experienced in parts of Luzon due to Tropical Depression “Isang.” While there is no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal hoisted over Metro Manila, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat slightly enhanced by “Isang” is bringing gale-force gusts over the capital region.
Several local government units have also announced class suspensions on Friday due to the weather. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
