In her National Heroes Day message, Duterte remembered the bravery of Filipinos who gave their lives for the country’s freedom, saying their courage and unity should inspire today’s generation.
(On this day, we remember the heroism of all Filipinos who offered their lives and strength for the good of the nation. We recognize their courage, greatness, and unity in achieving our independence.)
The Vice President highlighted the heroism of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), who face danger daily to ensure the safety of communities. She also lauded teachers, doctors, nurses, and frontline workers for their dedication in serving the people.
Duterte extended her gratitude to OFWs for their sacrifices and perseverance to provide for their families while supporting the Philippine economy. She added that their hard work reflects the resilience of Filipinos who never give up in the face of challenges.
