Vince Dizon takes oath as new DPWH chief
Vivencio “Vince” Dizon on Monday took his oath as the new secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. administered the oath taking at Malacañang Palace.
The change of leadership in the DPWH came amid allegations of corruption and anomalies in the country’s flood control projects.
Dizon replaced Manuel “Manny” Bonoan who resigned from his post.
Dizon was tasked by the President to conduct a full organizational sweep of the agency and ensure that funds are being used wisely.
The former DOTR chief served as the president and chief executive officer of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and also became the deputy chief implementer of the National Action Plan Against COVID-19 at the height of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, former Undersecretary Giovanni Lopez was also sworn in as acting secretary of the Department of Transportation. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
