Over 8,000 government positions available in September job fairs
Over 8,000 job vacancies — covering plantilla and non-plantilla positions — across 254 government agencies will be offered in job fairs this month organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), in line with the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).
In an advisory, the CSC said the vacancies are across 254 national agencies, local governments, government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and state colleges and universities (SUCs).
These will be offered in 15 regional venues across the country from Tuesday, September 2 to Friday, September 5, and in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) next Tuesday, September 9.
A total of 25 government agencies will participate in the National Capital Region (NCR), including the Pasig City Government, the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Pag-IBIG Fund, the Social Security System, and the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Registration for the NCR leg at SM North EDSA, however, has already reached the maximum applicants.
Region II or the Cagayan Valley will have 15 participating agencies, while Region VII or Central Visayas will have 28, including the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Departments Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Budget and Management (DBM), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the National Police Commission.
Region XII or Soccsksargen will have 23 participating agencies, including the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Provincial Government of South Cotabato.
Latest data available from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shows that there were 1.95 million unemployed Filipinos in June, lower than the 2.03 million in May 2025. This translated to an unemployment rate of 3.7%. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
