Marcos back in Manila after state visit to Cambodia

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Tuesday arrived in Manila after his three-day state visit to Cambodia.

The PR001 carrying the President and his entire delegation landed at 2:49 p.m. (PH time) at the Villamor Air Base.

Three key agreements covering police cooperation, higher education, and air connectivity were signed by the two countries in Phnom Penh on Monday.

Marcos and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet witnessed the signing of the agreements.

In his arrival speech, Marcos said the two countries' collective interest to bolster intra-ASEAN trade through enhancing market access was highlighted during his visit.

''We had a productive engagement with the top businesses in Cambodia, together with our official business delegation, where our discussions focused on our complementary strengths and how both sides can offer each other unique opportunities for growth and for market diversification,'' Marcos said.

''Our discussion resulted in strategic partnerships through the signing of five business agreements,'' he added.

Marcos said he also took the opportunity to express his appreciation for Cambodia's support for the Philippines' bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and for the Philippines' ASEAN chairmanship next year.

''I am confident that through regular dialogues, the Philippines-Cambodia partnership will be guided by our common aspiration for progress, peace, and stability for our peoples and for the ASEAN region,'' he said. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
