VP Sara to reservists: Protect democracy

Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday called on military reservists to protect democracy and promote human rights in the country.

In her message for the 46th National Reservist Week, Duterte expressed her appreciation for reservists and their services during emergencies, disasters, and crises.

“Sumasaludo ako sa kahandaan at dedikasyon na naitanim sa kaisipan at damdamin ng mga reservist na pagsilbihan ang ating bansa sa kabila ng iba pang mga tungkulin sa napiling larangan o sektor sa lipunan,” she said.

(I salute the preparation and dedication to serve the country that has been implanted in the hearts and minds of reservists, despite their other responsibilities in their chosen fields or sectors in the country.)

Duterte said that she is a reservist herself and urged her fellow reservists to fight for the truth.

“Protektahan natin ang ating demokrasya at isulong ang ating mga karapatan… Magpatuloy tayo na magsilbi bilang inspirasyon sa mas marami pang kabataan bilang mabubuting ehemplo ng pagmamahal sa bayan at tapat na pagsusumikap para sa kapakanan ng sambayanang Pilipino,” she added.
