Dismissed DPWH engineer Jaypee Mendoza leaves House custody
Dismissed Bulacan first district assistant engineer Jaypee Mendoza has left the protective custody of the House of Representatives, Bicol Saro party-list Representative Terry Ridon said Sunday.
“Upon his own request, Mr. Jaypee Mendoza has left the protective custody of the House of Representatives on 12 September 2025,” Ridon said in a Viber message.
“He expressed his wish to be with his family at this time,” he added.
Mendoza earlier requested security as he disclosed that he had received a death threat from a certain “hitman.” He is one of the four contractors facing a graft complaint filed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with the Office of the Ombudsman in relation to the supposed anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan.
“The House Infrastructure Committee, nonetheless, hopes that Mr. Mendoza will continue to appear in future committee hearings to provide further information relevant to the ongoing inquiry,” Ridon said.
