PISTON to hold transport strike vs corruption

Transport group PISTON on Sunday said it will conduct a nationwide transport strike on Thursday, September 18, to protest the alleged corruption on flood control projects at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The transport strike aims to call for accountability from officials and contractors involved in the alleged misuse of taxes, according to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Mao dela Cruz.

The nationwide transport strike will begin at 5 a.m.

PISTON urged the public to join their call for accountability, since every Filipino is affected by the alleged corruption.

On Saturday, Malacañang said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. respects freedom of expression, as several groups took to the streets this week to protest the irregularities in the government's flood control projects. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
