2 dead amid LPA, easterlies rains in Luzon
A woman and her 13-year-old nephew were killed after a tree fell on them amid strong winds and heavy rains in Daet, Camarines Norte, according to a report on Unang Balita Monday.
Based on the investigation, the two victims were opening a store when the tree collapsed and hit them, GMA Integrated News’ Bam Alegre reported.
Aside from them, the tree also fell on some houses and a tricycle in the area.
State weather bureau PAGASA said Monday the low pressure area and easterlies were affecting most parts of the country.
In La Trinidad, Benguet, a strong current of flood was rushing downhill on a sloping road in Barangay Pico.
Landslide from a house under construction was also reported in Pagsanjan, Laguna. Motorists faced slow traffic due to the flooding in towns of Pila, Paete, and Pagsanjan.
In Mauban, Quezon, muddy flood affected some residential areas. According to the residents, the water rose faster compared to previous incidents of flooding in the area.
In Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, residents from three barangays were not able to go to the town proper after a spillway overflowed, blocking the road.
In Bacong, Negros Oriental, many residents were affected after their water supply was cut due to the strong current of flood in Barangay Liptong.
Meanwhile in Tanjay, motorists were stranded due to the overflowing spillway in Nagsala River in Barangay Santa Cruz Viejo. —Joviland Rita/AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
