DPWH: Hernandez, Mendoza dismissed, perpetually disqualified from office
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has perpetually disqualified from public office former Bulacan first district assistant engineer Brice Hernandez and construction division chief Jaypee Mendoza due to link to alleged anomalous flood control projects.
In a decision signed September 15, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said Hernandez, Mendoza, and Bulacan first district Engineering Office accountant Juanito Mendoza were dismissed with perpetual disqualification from public office, forfeiture of retirement benefits, except accrued leave credits, and cancellation of civil service eligibility.
This is their administrative case for disloyalty, grave misconduct, gross neglect in the performance of duty, and conduct prejudicial to the interest of service.
During the House infrastructure committee hearing, Hernandez alleged that some senators are involved in alleged anomalous flood control projects.
He has filed a writ of amparo asking for a temporary protection order and to be placed under the witness protection program following his transfer to the Pasay City Jail from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center.
The three were also among the respondents in the complaint filed by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon with the Office of the Ombudsman for malversation through falsification of public documents, violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and violation of the Government Procurement Act. —Joana Lei Casilao/AOL, GMA Integrated News
