16K Sumbong sa Pangulo reports to be turned over to ICI

Malacañang on Wednesday said more than 16,000 reports have been received by the sumbongsapangulo.ph website since it was launched by President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr.

During a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said these reports would be turned over to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

''Mayroon po na natanggap na sumbong as of now ay 16,275 na report at lahat pong ito, dahil mayroon na pong ICI, ay ipapasa na po sa ICI,'' Castro said.

(As of now, we have already received 16,275 reports and all of these will be turned over to the ICI.)

Last month, Marcos launched sumbongsapangulo.ph, a website designed to provide the public with access to information on flood control projects across the country. This will also allow them to report any irregularities on the said projects.

Malacañang had urged the public not to report false information on the website as investigation on faulty and anomalous flood control programs is ongoing.

The President said the whole audit process on flood control projects would not work unless the citizens are involved.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the ICI already met and started its work. Chairperson Andres Reyes Jr. and members, former Public Works Secretary Rogelio "Babes" Singson and Rossana Fajardo, had a meeting at the Department of Public Works and Highways main office. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
