Upon his arrival at Quezon City Hall, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, special adviser to the commission, told reporters that the ICI will inspect five flood control projects in the city.
He also confirmed that the ICI will conduct frequent inspections of flood control projects in various locations.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday said 35 flood control projects in the city are missing, leading her to believe these are ghost projects.
The ICI began its work on Tuesday as it held a meeting at the Department of Public Works and Highways main office.
Under Executive Order No. 94, the ICI has been tasked with investigating and evaluating information against all government officials and employees, as well as any other individual, involved in anomalies, irregularities, and the misuse of funds related to flood control and other infrastructure projects nationwide.
