Palace says no threat to Marcos' life
There is no threat to the life of President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr., Malacañang emphasized on Wednesday.
During a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro was asked if there is a threat to the life of the President as he had no public engagements in the past days.
''Wala po. Wala pong nararamdaman sa kasalukuyan na threat. Of course, maliban lang, sabi nga natin sa mga nakaraang threat ng Bise Presidente sa kaniyang buhay, sa ngayon po ay wala pong direct threat na nakikita at nararamdaman ang Pangulo at ang gobyerno at nagkataon lamang po siguro na wala pong activities,'' she said.
(There's none. There's no threat being monitored at present. Of course, that's aside from the threat made by the Vice President. But right now, there's no direct threat being monitored. It's just that the President had no public engagements and activities.)
Castro also explained that the President recently held private meetings.
His last public engagement was on Saturday when he visited Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila. He also led the ceremonial launch of the white-colored Beep cards for students at the Legarda Station of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2).
That was a day before the two major September 21 rallies were held in Metro Manila amid the ongoing investigation into the misuse of billions of pesos meant for flood control projects.
On Tuesday, Castro said that Marcos was monitoring the weather situation in the country amid the threat of Super Typhoon Nando. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
