Marcos ‘satisfied’ with preps amid bad weather, says Gibo Teodoro
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. is satisfied with the preparations following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Nando and amid the threat of Severe Tropical Storm Opong, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. said Wednesday.
''The President was satisfied with the extent of preparations and the prepositioning of needed goods and supplies, particularly sa Batanes,'' Teodoro told reporters.
The President was briefed by concerned agencies as regards the situation of the affected provinces amid the bad weather.
Teodoro, meanwhile, said the budget was efficient as well as the emergency funds of the agencies involved.
He, however, said they were coordinating with other offices regarding the replenishment of ready-to-eat family food packs and medicines.
As of 2 p.m., state weather bureau PAGASA said Opong was monitored 705 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
It has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour, and gustiness of up to 115 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Ragasa, which was formerly known as Nando, remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. —RF, GMA Integrated News
