Marcos taps Brian Hosaka as ICI executive director
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday named Brian Keith Hosaka as executive director of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), the body looking into flood control anomalies.
The Office of the President, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, transmitted the appointment letter signed by Marcos to ICI chairperson Andres Reyes, Jr.
Hosaka currently sits as commissioner of the Governance Commission for GOCCs (government-owned and controlled corporations). The GCG is the central advisory, oversight, and monitoring body of the GOCC sector.
He was also a former spokesperson of the Supreme Court.
The ICI is mandated to investigate irregularities in infrastructure projects and ensure accountability in the use of public funds.
The commission is also composed of former Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio “Babes” Singson and SGV Country Managing Partner at SGV Rossana Fajardo.
Meanwhile, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong serves as an adviser to the ICI. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
