Royina Garma, 4 others face arrest over Wesley Barayuga death in 2020

A regional trial court has ordered the arrest of former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager Royina Garma and four others in connection with the death of PCSO Board Secretary Wesley Barayuga in Mandaluyong City in 2020.

In a report, Super Radyo dzBB's Mark Makalalad said this was confirmed by Police Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño, Philippine National Police-Public Information Office chief, during a press conference on Monday.

The report said the Mandaluyong RTC Branch 279 issued the arrest warrant against Garma for murder in relation to Barayuga’s killing, as well as frustrated murder for the shooting of Barayuga’s driver.

Also named in the arrest order were:

  • Edilberto Dela Cruz Leonardo
  • Jeremy Zapata Causapin, also known as “Toks”
  • Santie Fuentes Mendoza
  • Nelson Enriquez Mariano

The court did not recommend bail against the respondents.

Tuano said acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Melencio Nartatez Jr. has directed police units to ensure “justice for all” in connection with the case. He added the Mandaluyong police already received the court order for arrest of Garma and others.
