JV Ejercito named Senate ethics panel chairperson

Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito on Tuesday was elected as chairman of the Senate committee on ethics and privileges.

During the plenary session, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri moved to elect Ejercito to the position, with Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan serving as the majority's vice chairperson.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III approved the motion after no senator objected.

The Ethics and Privileges panel is in charge of all matters relating to the conduct, rights, privileges, safety, dignity, integrity, and reputation of the Senate and its members.

With Ejercito's election, all 41 Senate committees now have chairpersons to lead them. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
