CA OKs appointment of DOE’s Garin, DICT’s Aguda


The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday afternoon officially approved the ad interim appointments of Sharon Garin as secretary of Department of Energy, and Henry Aguda as secretary of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). 

This came after the CA committees on energy, and information and communications technology endorsed to the plenary the confirmation of their ad interim appointments.

The motions were approved by Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, who serves as the ex officio chairman of the CA.

Aside from Garin and Aguda, the CA also approved the ad interim appointments and nominations of the following 39 generals, flag officers, and senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP):

  • Benecio Adona to the rank of Colonel, Medical Corps (Reserve)
  • Nelson Aluad to the rank of Brigadier General
  • Carmelito Pangatungan to the rank of Brigadier General
  • Larry Batalla to the rank of Brigadier General
  • Prudencio Iddoba to the rank of Brigadier General
  • Junjie Tabuada to the rank of Commodore
  • Glenn Dizon to the rank of Commodore
  • Arlino Sendaydiego to the rank of Brigadier General
  • Francisco Cacho to the rank of Commodore
