Tarlac court voided Alice Guo’s birth certificate —PSA
The birth certificate of former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo —who was at the center of a series of human trafficking probes involving Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO)— was declared void by a local court, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
National Statistician and PSA chief Claire Dennis Mapa told the Senate finance panel on Friday that Tarlac City Regional Trial Court Branch 111 voided Guo’s certificate of live birth last September 24, 2025.
“This is a good news for the Philippine government, the Philippine Statistics Authority na… nai-declare ng RTC na void ang birth registration ni Alice Guo,” Mapa said.
The Tarlac court’s decision came over a year after the PSA endorsed to the Office of the Solicitor General the cancellation of Guo’s birth certificate.
Guo’s citizenship was questioned due to her inconsistent testimonies about her background and the supposed dubious documents regarding her Filipino citizenship.
The former Bamban town mayor is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail.
She is facing multiple charges in relation to her involvement in the POGO controversy such as falsification of public documents, human trafficking, and graft.
