DPWH's Dizon: 8,000 infrastructure projects already inspected
Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines personnel have inspected some 8,000 infrastructure projects all over the country, Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon said Thursday.
Aside from military and police personnel, Dizon said staff from the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development also joined the simultaneous inspections.
Dizon declined to disclose what provinces or regions these projects were concentrated in.
The DPWH chief went to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to submit the report. The commission is investigating anomalous infrastructure projects in the last ten years.
He was joined by DPWH Undersecretary for regional operations Arthur Bisnar and ICI special adviser and investigator former PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin.

The DPWH will formalize with the ICI the tapping of AFP and PNP personnel in investigating anomalous infrastructure projects.
He added that there are no “no-go” zones or areas shielded from any inspections.
“The strategy is to tap them. DPWH has trust issues we need independent validators,” Dizon said.
Azurin who met with the ICI on Wednesday said the public should not be made to feel impatient as he asked support saying it should not be an effort of just one agency but by the Filipino people. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
