On VP Sara saying she won't name Boying Remulla as Ombudsman if she's prex: Marcos knows better, Palace says

Sara Duterte Ombudsman Boying Remulla Palace

"The President thinks well, knows better.''

This was the response of Malacañang on the remark made by Vice President Sara Duterte saying that if she were the president, she will not appoint former Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin ''Boying'' Remulla as Ombudsman.

''Nagkataon po na hindi siya presidente so, mahirap pong sagutin ang isang pangarap na hindi mangyayari sa ngayon,'' Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro added.

(She's not the president so it's hard to respond to a dream, which won't happen now.)

Asked for his statement during a press conference, Remulla replied: "No comment, nothing."

Remulla earlier said he would study the complaint filed against Duterte over the alleged misuse of confidential funds amounting to P500 million in the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and P112.5 million in the Department of Education (DepEd) from 2022 to 2024.

The complaint stemmed from the recommendation of the House committee on good governance and public accountability to file charges against her.

Senator Imee Marcos, the president's sister, had claimed that Remulla was being pushed into the Ombudsman post in order to jail Duterte and her allies before the 2028 presidential election. — with a report from Vince Angelo Ferreras/RSJ/AOL, GMA Integrated News
