Marcos sees progress in situation of Cebu earthquake victims

Upon his return, President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. saw progress in the situation of the victims of earthquake in Northern Cebu, particularly those temporarily staying in San Remigio.

Marcos again personally checked the victims who were displaced and are currently staying in modular units to see if their needs are addressed.

(It's good to see that there's progress. The Philippine Red Cross has been a huge help. That's why our chairman, former senator Dick Gordon, is here. There are a lot of tents here provided by the Red Cross, including the relief goods. They moved fast.)

He mentioned that the Philippine Red Cross also put up a swimming pool for the kids, which, according to him, is good for their mental health.

(The children, they were traumatized because of the earthquake, they lost their houses then they transferred here. At least now, we see that they are already laughing, they're shouting, so it's a big help for their mental health.)

A total of 747,979 people or 216,947 families in Central Visayas were affected by the earthquake.

During his first visit, Marcos provided nearly P200 million for the affected local government units and hospitals in Cebu province. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
