Escudero owns no property at Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges —developer

Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero has no property at Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges (ABML), the residential developer management said, contrary to claims posted online.

In a statement provided by Alphaland Corporation president Dennis Valdes to GMA News Online on Sunday, ABML verified that no house was registered under Escudero’s name or any company associated with him.

“ABML, like any other residential village in the country, does not divulge a list of its residents / homeowners. However, we are able to confirm that there is no home listed as owned by Sen Chiz Escudero or any company associated with him,” ABML said.

It, however, said that Escudero’s wife, actress and influencer Heart Evangelista, is a member of Alphaland Balesin Island Club and their family have occasional visited the property.

“We are aware, however, that he and his family are occasional visitors to the property as can be gleaned from the numerous social media posts by various parties. Mrs. Escudero, being a long time member of Alphaland Balesin Island Club, is allowed the privilege to use the facilities of ABML,” ABML said.

Escudero and 23 other senators released their respective Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) in response to calls for transparency amid alleged corruption in the country.

The senator declared a net worth of P18.84 million with zero liabilities.

He also included in his SALN several real properties which he all acquired in 2013 through succession, but did not declare ownership or any business interest related to Alphaland.

Both Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges in Itogon, Benguet and Alphaland Balesin Island Club in Quezon Province are under Alphaland Corporation.

GMA News Online has reached out to Escudero for comment but the senator has yet to issue a statement. —KG, GMA Integrated News
