PDEA seizes gallons of acetone in Manila operation - report
MANILA, Philippines - Anti-drug operatives seized several gallons of acetone and made some arrests following a sting operation on a beauty products shop in Manila's Quiapo district Wednesday afternoon. Radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu reported that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized at least 35 one-gallon containers and 40 half-gallon containers of acetone in the operation. One of those arrested was initially identified as Sherwin Sebastian, a sales personnel of "Hortaleza" beauty care product store at the corner of Quezon Boulevard and Arlegui Street. Sebastian was arrested after selling the acetone to a Chinese national and to an undercover agent. The PDEA said acetone is a regulated substance as it is an ingredient in methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu). PDEA said the shop's PDEA license was expired, even as Sebastian did not ask the buyer for a proper permit from PDEA to buy the substance. - GMANews.TV
